Fortepan 200 and 400 sheet film versus JC Classic 200 and 400 sheet film. Any opinions from those who have compared the two side by side would be appreciated.

I believe that J&C Classic and fotoimpex ClassicPan are in fact repackaged Fortepan, so there should be no difference at all.

I suspected that but I have not done any comparisons of these films. Are you able to verify that they are indeed the same films? Were you or anyone able to get confirmation from the manufacturer or from testing? Thanks for your help in this matter.

When I emailed Mirko from fotoimpex, he said that ClassicPan was repackaged Fortepan, and my impression is that J&C Classic is the same as ClassicPan, but you could e-mail J&C and ask them to confirm.

In that case then David, Fortepan is Classic Pan is JC Classic. I do know that Classic Pan is JC Classic here in Europe.

Thanks for your help.

I am so perplexed as to why a company would apply three different names for the same film.

Most of the other manufacturers allow their films to be repackaged as house brands and store brands. I suppose it is just another way to market more film.
