I finally got around to shooting the two rolls of Fortepan 100 in 120, which I must have bought about three years ago. I just processed the test roll (shots of our 11-month old) and they look absolutely fine, but I was amazed that there are absolutely no rebate markings at all - no words, no numbers, nothing. The expiration date on the boxes is 02/2005. The number after that is 2107 and there is another number on the box, 117 7900. Can somebody please shed some light on this? Is it normal for Forte? Also, incidentally, is Forte film still available? Thanks.

Yes, it's normal. And yes, it's still available.

Thanks, Marco. I'm glad to hear it's still available. It's a very curly one, or maybe that's because I've been storing it for so long.

No, that's expected as well. The support is much thinner than - say- an Ilford and tends to "remember" its rolled-up state.

But if you can live with that, it's a very good film and the price is a steal.

Dear Marco,

It has a name in the trade...its called 'memory curl'

Useless information...but information none the less

ps Thought your boys played very well the other day!

Thanks Simon, nice to know. Unfortunately, knowing my brain, I'll forget in five minutes, but I would really like being able to recall the proper term on the long run...

OT: really? I thought that if only Ghana had more precision it would have been 10-2. Which could have been a good thing, actually. You sure know how italian soccer recently turned out to be the proverbial "pile'o'crap". A lesson of modesty was highly desirable IMHO.
