Hello all,
I just found a roll of Illford HP5 plus 400 black and white film that I shot before a 16 year hiatus with film photography, it could even be 20 years old. Unfortunately it wasn't stored in the freezer, just in a dresser drawer.
I'd like to try and develop the film and am looking for tips. The developer I have on hand and am familiar with is HC-110, and I use Arista Fixer.
My procedure is as follows for recently exposed film all steps are performed at 68 F/20 C. My definition of a complete inversion is turning the film tank upside down then right side up.
HC-110 at a 1:31 dilution, for five minutes and 15 seconds.
-One minute continuous agitation at start, one complete inversion every two seconds
-Five inversions every 30 seconds spaced over eight seconds
Rinse
-45 seconds one complete inversion every two seconds
Arista fixer 1:4 dilution for six minutes.
-Agitate 30 seconds at start, one complete inversion every two seconds
-Six inversions every minute spaced out over nine seconds
Rinse
-Five times, five complete inversions
Photoflow
-One drop
-One complete inversion
-Let sit for 30 seconds.
Do I need to change the development and/or fixing times?
Thanks!
