And I kept thinking 'Wow! I'm really making progress!'

Uhhh...Nope...

So yeah, daylight savings is the gift that keeps on giving.

I was out in the desert photographing (outside of cell-range) when we changed to DST. Didn't notice a thing...

That's what darkrooms are all about.... I don't have any clocks in mine that literally tell time, they just paraphrase it.

Would be nice to lose myself for a day or two in a darkroom but I don't have the luxury these days.

At 82 and retired I have that luxury, but my normally astute bride knocked on the darkroom door and asked, "What time is your doctor's appointment?" I asked her, "What time is it?" She told me and I said "Oh, I have lots of time yet." After I missed the appointment, her comment was, "Oh, were we supposed to turn the clocks AHEAD?"

I have to worry about kids turning on the lights or burning the house down.

Nah.. the time didn't change here... what ya talking about.
That is if you live in Arizona, but not in Navajo Land. There then change, which confuses tourists who come through there from the east, and then end up in Flagstaff.
We don't do day light savings, but then, you have to change your thinking when you make calls out of state. CALIFORNIA is now at the same time, but to the east, its later.
Tick tock...

I hate the time change. It throws me off for weeks. Sure it's only and hour but its the wrong hour!

Where I live there's no DST but my darkroom clock is still a deceiver. I'll go in early, fill the trays, turn on the safelights, the air-con, and the stereo. Then I'll spend a couple of hours putting a few negatives through the enlarger or contact frame. Next thing I know it's late afternoon, the archival washer is full, and my feet hurt. I wish the darkroom clock would warn me about the sudden passage of time.

I opened up the gas station at 6am on the south rim of the Grand Canyon (1977) and occasionally there would be a tourist or two from California waiting at the pumps when I arrived at 5:30am. I'd give them the Arizona no-DST rundown and get their gas pumped as soon as I could get set-up for it. Early in the season (May), I walked along the rim trail to work in the snow as the sun rose over the Canyon...not bad at all, so I was usually in a good mood in the mornings.

Same here. But the clock in my darkroom stopped working. I almost missed the bus dropping off the little guy - they won't let the little ones off if there's no one out there.

"Does anybody really know what time it is?"
- Chicago Transit Authority

You need Theo-time. It works thusly:

Monday through Friday: set clocks ahead 1 hour at 10am. Set clocks back 1 hour at 10pm.

Saturday and Sunday: no change to clocks.

I hate seeing two 7 o'clocks in one day. To paraphrase Terry Pratchett (I think).

What is wrong with me, I do not have a clock in my darkroom, only timers.

You have a clock in your darkroom? I only have a sundial, which isn't terribly useful, but it's very analog. I may upgrade to an hourglass though.
