This was posted on another site with regard to Bergger products.

The link seems to lead one to think production is going on.

Did I just read a female say she didn't like to speculate on something she knew nothing about? Another myth bites the dust.

sorry Ann, just wanted to pick on you...Tom

Well, I can be wrong also, I heard sometimes they use Forte emulsions and Arches papers but they manufacture their own also.
Again, I`m not 100% sure of this.

Cheers

A Bunch of Bergger's can be found at Chicago's
Central Camera. Lots of VC and lots of Graded.

I've the impression they are a French firm and heir
to the once famous Guillemont? Ring a bell? Dan

This is what I have read. Bergger doen't make anything but holds the patents/fomulas to emulsions. Forte does the actual production to the Bergger/Guillemont specs.

this is a copy of the message posted on another site;

As a european distributor of Bergger products I take the opportunity to give
a few precisions concerning the Bergger line of products.

First of all, the different photographic emulsions are based on the original
Guilleminot formulae so you do not have to be surprised by the superior
quality of the fiber based emulsions. This is due to the fact that they
contain more silver salts than the conventional photographic papers.

The photographic emulsions are principally coated by Foma. Bergger has,
since recently a complete coating facility which is independant of the Foma
products.

Concerning the COT-230 myth I can tell you that the paper stock is Arches
Platine with a gelatine coating on both sides.

Hoping to have cleared up any misunderstandings I warmly suggest you to

Great!

I really, really like the Bergger papers - whether there is more silver than others I don't know and don't care, but the prints just look better.
