Eh, there's some nice stuff posted there. But personally, I like best my beat-up 1960 M3 of unknown provenance. Because I've taken it out quite a lot over the last 15 years and actually shoot photos with it, and whether they're good or not, it's still lots of fun. And it didn't cost much at all, relatively. It's a proper work of art in my eyes.

This kind of stuff seems to be on the same level of lunacy as NFTs. The artistic merit is nonexistent or nearly so and it's entirely about the cult of personality surrounding the object. What's next? Julius Caeser's last roll of toilet tissue? Bah, humbug.
I doubt anyone would deny that, actually. The wrapping of the camera was probably not done as an artistic statement but more as a bit of a joke. That it remained wrapped is impressive, but that suggests the whole episode associated with it was quite important to the photographer, who found the wrapped camera meaningful enough to keep it that way.
It'll be tricky getting a cla for that camera without unwrapping it

I disagree, as I think it is a work of art in its own right. It is the thought of what is within, while knowing from its tightly wrapped shape it is a Leica but what of its potential in the right hands. The coloured banding adds to the enigma. For me it is like an unexploded bomb. Perhaps I think that way because I am a leica user, but think that others may also share some of those thoughts.
