I thought I'd post an example of this paper I recently tried for the first time, developed in Ansco 130 for 2 1/2 minutes, TMX negative.

A nice weight with a beautiful watercolor-type surface that is perfect for certain images. The surface limits the sharpness while imparting a slight diffusion characteristic. It is by far the warmest tone base I've ever seen, hence the chamois designation.

Excellent blacks and a wide tonal range. The paper is approximately 2-2 1/2 stops slower than Ilford MG FB.

Hi
A nice picture on a beautiful paper. Really warm colours and the math surface suites the motif well.
I don’t know that developer, but I suppose its warm tone developer?

Regards

Very nice work. I love this paper but am having trouble finding it in 11x14 or 12x16. Does anyone know of a source other than freestyle?

As far as I know, it is out of production!!
as so many other fine papers.
they made a new version, called Foma 542 II, which is not the same......

the Foma chamois developed in Fomas own warmtone developer (w24 I think it's called, but I can check) , could give a browntoned image..

PS: just came home from Prague - and I bought the last remaing box in 12x16...

And I just sold a print I love printed on this paper ?!?!

I'll trade you some cold stored (in the winter) 16x20 Agfa 118 for it...?

As for U.S., Freestyle has the monopoly on Foma. Here we still have 542 left, but I've heard from a 3rd party the "new" 542 is basically the same. For now I'm printing 333 Velvet and Varycon for fiber.
