Fomatone MG Art Classic

I just received a notification that Foma launches a special edition of the paper 'Fomatone MG Art Classic 536' in connection with their 95th anniversary. I can't however find any technical details on this paper and it is not mentioned on Foma's web page.

Has anyone tried this paper yet? How does it compare to the 532-II and 542-II papers from Foma, especially when it comes to paper weight, surface tint and structure?

The paper is available from macodirect.de. The description in the online shop says matt double weight, creamy base and natural structure from top to bottom.

I considered trying it, but will probably continue refining my experience on MGWT.

And that description is unfortunately so generic, that it could just as well have been used for the 532-II or 542-II papers, except perhaps for the otherwise just as wooly and unspecific 'natural structure from top to bottom'.

Any news on this from someone who's tried it? I'll probably get it because I love Foma paper, especially 542 which btw seems discontinued now? It sounds like the "natural structure" might be a tough texture on the paper like Ilford MG Art 300 perhaps?

I think it might be an attempt to find a replacement for the 542 base - as with all papers the availability of them is dependent on sufficient suitable base material being available/ made at a reasonable price & 542's unique base colour makes it vulnerable to changes in paper base availability.

According to my Foma paper sample book first digit
1 Dbl. Wt Baryta Coated
2 Sgl. Wt. Baryta Coated
3 RC
4 RC 110 g/ sq.m
5 Natural

The data sheet refers to it as natural carton stock. Would this indicate no baryta coating???

Second digit of 3 indicates cream colored stock.

The last digit of 6 doesn't show up on my chart??
1 glossy, 2 matt, 3 velvet, 4 lustre, 5 pyramid grain. 6???

I've got so much paper, I think I will pass on this. I want to try their Fomatone Classic 132.

Foma Paper codes from their current catalogue:

as the list goes, 3rd digit "6" may suggest "sisal-grain"

I have at least decided not to order it until someone else has tried it, giving me a good and exceptional reason why I should. I assume that it is quite similar to the 532 paper, but about twice as expensive and 'heavily limited'. If I should happen to like the paper, which I very probably would, it is likely sold out before I am able to stock up on it.

Supply of many of the Foma papers has not exactly been particularly reliable lately.

I still have a stock of Forte Polywarmtone. A lot. I'm not buying anything that's here today gone tomorrow. I bought a bunch of the Forte "Azo" I'm glad I did because it's awesome paper, but I bought 100 sheet boxes and it wasn't 3 euro a sheet. Anything I like I buy and freeze. About the time I figure something out it's gone. Ilford is number 1 on my "keep it alive" concern. My concern isn't film, but paper availability. I do want to try the 132, if I like it I will buy a couple boxes for the freezer.
