You may remember that last year I shot a couple of rolls of the Foma Cine Ortho 400 8mm movie film.
I've now tested the Fomapan 100 B&W negative 8mm cine film on my recent trip to Japan. And I found it most excellent.
Please note the film was processed by me, by hand in an old Lomo tank in my bathroom and scanned on one of the cheap £250 domestic scanners, inverted in an old version of Vegas software. The film did jam a couple of times, hence some jitter and bright frames. I think that is actually down to worn out AA batteries in the camera, I should have replaced them. Shots are in and around Kyoto and Tokyo from earlier this month. The last shots were made just six days ago
For me the video defaults to the silly resolution of 144p so you might need to select a higher resolution. It's uploaded in 1080. And if you want to get noticed in a good way in Japan....shoot 8mm film on a 60+ year old cine camera. I even elicited interest from the monks at Kiyamizu-Dera temple. Also the young crowds in Shinjuku.
