There's a link to an English version at the top right of the page in the link.

The description is pretty sparse, and basically identical to what it says about Fomalux 312, except for being on a fibre base. I'd conjecture that the emulsions might be basically the same. 312 is advertised as a silver chloride paper, and I believe past discussions on APUG have borne out the claim.

It seems to be the same emulsion of 312, on in fiber paper.

I think is an interesting news, even if it's only in grade 2 no other grade.
Should be interesting after Foma other productors as Adox or Ilford could be have this kind of paper.

Silverprint mentioned recently a FB contact printing paper coming from Foma in Autumn.

I have a ton of Lodima (which I love!) and am broke anyway.... so can't justify buying any to test. If someone is interested here's a one time offer: =)

Send me a 25 sheet pack of this paper (I'll make 4x5 contacts so it will be like a one hundred sheet box to me) and I'll send you a finished 4x5 contact print - mounted matted signed bagged etc. I charge $175 for my 4x5s so you'd get a print for $32.99 plus the shipping from Freestlye to me... I'll ship the finished print in the CONUS at my expense..... (It will be a finished print I deem as a quality example of my work, not necessarily on this new paper unless you request that. I'll also check to make sure you like the image of course.)

I recently tested this paper and I must say it is superb. If it is indeed a pure silver chloride emulsion then it is quite fast, certainly when compared to Lodima which is also a wonderful paper. The grade 2 (special) is quite hard in my opinion and compares favourably with Lodima grade 3.

Here in the UK it should be available from Silverprint real soon

That's good news. I'm with Jim and would prefer a grade 3. I target most of my negs to grade 3 silver chloride so that they print on G2 enlarging paper (or so) and are not overly dense for scanning.

What developer did you use, Tevor? And how was the color?

Interesting. I've been loading up my amidol with extra KBr in order to warm up Lodima. I've found it is one of the most lovely colors I've been able to achieve with any paper. Maybe it will have the same effect on this Foma.... my somewhat limited experience with Azo has show it does no warm up much with the same formula... of course my Azo is vintage so that might have something to do with it. Thanks, Trevor.

The speed is a real problem for me with Lodima. Some of my negatives print absolutely black in 3-5 seconds whereas they take 15-25 seconds on Azo. Trevor, were the negatives you printed developed in a staining developer such as Pyrocat?

what bulb are you using? why don't you just use a lower wattage? Raise the bulb? Diffuse it?

Jim, my negatives were 8x10's developed in Rodinal 1:25. I only had 5 sheets to test so have a lot to investigate when this paper becomes readily available.

Fomalux 111 FB is a lot faster than Lodima. As an example when printing on Lodima I use a 150 watt lamp at a distance of 20", this gives me average exposures of around 20 seconds for my Rodinal negs. With Fomalux I had to switch to a 40 watt lamp at a distance of 30" for similar exposure times.

You definitely need a staining developer with Lodima. My pyrocat negs print fine on Lodima, even pretty thin ones. I've never bought any of the production run, as I still have a lot of Azo left. Is the production paper the same speed as the beta test boxes or did they fix that? I remember telling MAS about the speed issue.

Hope that works for you! I'm using a 100, 150 and 200 depending on the negs. All my newer work prints with the 150 at between 20 to 40 seconds.

I'm not sure where you're coming from here. I use highly dilute Rodinal with great results. Michael and Paula thought I had no reason to change back to pyro. I also watched Michael make a gorgeous print of a fellow student's negative developed in D76.

I don't mean to argue with you, Jim. I'm just concerned that someone looking to try Lodima might read that and think their negs won't work. While a somewhat denser neg seems to do the best for me it doesn't need to be bullet proof by any means and I've had no problems reaching proper contrast on the Grade 3, and occasionally the Grade 2.
