I am trying Fomabrom Variant IV 123. The instructions for fix times reference FomaFix at 1+5 ratio for 3 min.

I always mix fix at the film ratio when using a Ilford or Kodak fix. A film strengh fix used on paper (normally 60s) fixes the paper and reduces the wash time.

Is the FomaFix recommended 1+5 ratio film strengh or the traditional weaker solution for paper.

Thank you Po6ept

So Fomafix recommends 1+4 to fix film. If accurate, than I need to fix Fomabrom Variant IV, 123 for 3 min. Wow, that's a long fix time. I use TF-4 alkaline fix.

For manual processing Foma is advising the 1+5 dilution for Fomafix (liquid). In a roller machine 1+4 but here you're processing B&W PE/RC mostly on 30C and a two bath roller machine from Durst or Thermaphot is going in 2 x 45s through the whole process.
Normally for fiber based papers in 1+4 rapid fixer (processed manually and at 20C) 2 minutes should be sufficient and when you want to be sure a 2-bath fixer is advised.

Fomabrom is not an exception of the regular processing of fiber papers.
