Hi all,
Been trying to find some info online about reusing Fomadon LQN working solution, and how much to development time to add per film developed, but it doesn't seem there's much out there. The bottle says it can be reused with compensation, but not how much.
Has anyone been able to determine how much to compensate when reusing LQN? Or is there a general principle to go by?
Also, wondering whether the anti-halation layer that gets dissolved out when developing 120 would affect further development times.

Actually it is written on the bottle "f = extension factor" and "f 1,4". However this is a one-shot developer, pretty much as most other liquid concentrate developers. But if you want to squeese maximum number of films per bottle of concentrate, I suggest you rather go with 1+14 dilution and discard it after use.

I see. So is that 1.4x development time per film processed? Per tank of film processed? Use once at specified time, then the next at time x1.4? Sorry, pretty new to this.

Personally I would se it as a one shot, that is use once and discard, quality of developed film would probably not be as good on the second and third film, for what you might save in reusing the developer you could well lose in lower quality,

And you'd probably have to reuse it immediately. I use mine one shot, getting 10 rolls of 135 out of a bottle. I ordered move as part of a direct order from Foma, so it is quite cheap that way.

Yes, it's 1,4x per tank of film (I understand you will be developing more than one film at once). You start with recommended time and then add more for each successive development in the same working solution. You can find more details in Foma's product catalogue here: http://www.foma.cz/en/catalogue_bw_photo_materials_and_developing_information

Excellent, thanks for that, I hadn't seen the general catalogue. Yes I would be using it immediately, just want to get a bit more out of it than a single tank. I'm in Australia so most things are inordinately expensive (my local supplier sells LQN for a little under twice what it costs to get from Foma directly if you're in Europe - still not breaking the bank, but it adds up). I'll have a go and see how it turns out.
