Foma Retropan 320 - First test

Hi to all!

recently I bought a couple rolls of Foma Retropan 320. I loaded the first on a Voigtlander Vito B, rated it @ 250 and developed with Adox FX39 (1+9). Yes, I know it isn't fine grain developer but didn't worked bad with Delta 400. Next time I'll test the second roll with Ars-Imago Fd or Ilford DD-X (as I haven't other developers for now).

Grain was very evident and not always pleasant, expecially on highlights zones. Tones were good.

My register is saying:
The BMW thing is Foma Retro Special developer
The wood was Microphen stock solution.
The C330f was Foma Retro Special too.

Now you got me going here sagai...those pix look nothing like any of the others...rich nice and creamy. . Are you really liking it??

Peter, we are here retaining the pig blood, mix with rice and spices, then stuff it to the pig its own rectum, than we put it to the oven and eat all of it with a big smile on our face.
My liking could differ from others


I suspect that this film needs to be developed in a contrast working developer, otherwise for longer development times the contrast could develop excessively and unexpectedly (unless we thoroughly test is that I surely will not do).
This Retro Special developer get to the top of the contrast curve in 5-6 minutes contrary with all the rest of the developers, that I suspect is to be behind the difference in "creaminess".
I have received some hints from Foma for using Retro Special for other films these are the followings:
-Retropan 320 (EI 320) ……………. 4 – 5 min
-Fomapan 100 (EI 100) ……………. 5 min
-Fomapan 200 (EI 200) ……………. 4 min
-Fomapan 400 (EI 400) ……………. 6 – 7 min

I can now get the Foma Retro Developer from Freestyle here:

I've been told HC110 can give very similar results. We will see.

I think it should be really nice on other than 135 format.
