Hi. I bought a few days ago Foma 120 and 35 mm. ISO 100 & 200 film and Foma developer to test, because I have never used that film. One of the latest photos uploaded to the gallery is made with Foma 400 + D76 and I liked the result. If I am not in a mistake, D76 and ID11 have the same chemicals compositions. So ..... Has anyone used the ID11 with these films? What development times suggest me apply with ID11 developer when films was exposed to nominal sensitivity? Thanks for your answers.

I don't know that ID-11 and D-76 are EXACTLY the same chemical composition. There are probably some minor differences, none of them photographically significant. They perform exactly the same in use, and can be used interchangeably. So, if you've used Foma films and D-76 together and are happy with the results, go ahead and do the same thing with ID-11. The outcome will be the same.

It's far better in the proper Foma developer FV-3 :D Check it out - if it helps the formula is identical to ID-11/D76/Defender 6/Foton N1 and a few others

More seriously it's fine in D76 or Xtol but watch the EI cut by half and dev timesare 2/3 to 3/4 those of other film, Foma films run slow and need extra exposure, they also develop very much faster so contrast shoots up rapidly with over development.

This is very true.

Foma 100 is a funny film in that it (like APX100) has grain that vanishes in Xtol, but works beautifully with rodinal too.

I rate foma 100 at 50 in rodinal 1+50 in average light and 50 in Xtol 1+2 in contrasty light, with 64-80 possible in very flat lighting. I find it about 1/2 stop slower than Fp4+ or D100.

Dev times are short so use dilute devs and try to keep the temp down.

Thanks a lot to all for your reply. Take note about your comments and recomendations.

Hi. Ian Grant. I see your Apug Portfolio images and shine very nice. Did you used Foma in anyone?. Are you a professional photographer? Do you like trains and all around it?. Here on Spain we have a really importat photographic competition who is called "Caminos de Hierro" Do you know it? The web page you can see in english too. If you are interesting, will see information at this link http://www.ffe.es/caminosdehierro/indexe.htm.

Yes a few of the images on the last page were shot with Fomapan 100 or 200, it's my back-up film that I use when my stock of Ilford Delta is running low.

Since I did some simple Zone system tests to check effective film speed and dev times I've found the films are capable of excellent results so I keep a 30-40 rolls of 120 and some boxes of 5x4 in reserve.
