Hello,
I own a V35, first gen, with the original Philips 6604 bulb. I am kind of affraid of it burning in the future and wanted to do a quick état de l'art of what is available as spares or replacement solutions. Any NOS lamps available somewhere ? Or maybe switching to 220V LED bulbs might be a thing ?

Thanks in advance for your insights.
Vincent

ps. Just saw there are a couple of ads in the classifieds section with nos lamps. Might be interested but cannot send pm's due to my low activity account.

There's a shop in Amsterdam which had these bulbs. Send me a message . . .

The Phillips 6604 bulb was fitted to the early V35 enlargers and they have not been available for many years - anywhere! However the later versions (I don't know what they mean by the later versions) had different bulbs and there were two manufacturers. The Phillips 13139 and the Osram 64615. When I had a Leitz V35 around about 2000 it came with a Phillips 13139 and there was no problem with it or getting spares and I know they are still available. I can find the supplier in UK for the 13139 version if you wish.

At least in the U.S there is the possibility of having a lamp shop change out the current lamp housing and replaced with a housing that will take an available lamp. Not sure if the power supply would need to changed as well. Seems that there are a number of 75watt halogen bulbs still on the market.
