HI - I have a Marion Soho Reflex made I belive by Kershaw (sp?) Camera Co the camera is in very good condition, no marks on lenses, glass or mirror and the bellows are ok and light tight. But unfortunately the shutter has become unraveled. The shutter curtains are in good condition without obvious damage or pinholes.

I would like to attempt a repair myself as I am skint at the moment :surprised: but need some sort of guide of how the shutter should work, and its mechanism.

Can anyone recommend a website with details of how to repair or perhaps a book I could obtain from the Library?

Thanks in advance

Best try your luck at the Graflex forum, or try the Japanese repairsites:

or

I know the last one translates in the Bable fish website. Otherwise try your luck and spend some time zapp-guessing around. Many new and exciting things can be found here.

You forgot to mention if your camera has one or two shutter curtains. The Graflex has only one, cameras like the Rittreck have two.

I recommend Thomas Tomosy's book "Restoring Classic & Collectible Cameras" published by Amherst Media, Buffalo N.Y.

In that book there are instructions for repairing a Thornton Pickard Ruby Reflex focal plane shutter as well as a Pacemaker Speed Graphic focal plane shutter. Between the two you should have a good start on repairing your Soho Reflex.

Good luck.
