Color negatives often present a challenge when scanned: how to get the darn colors right? Many of us are familiar with the experience of moving around sliders in a photo editing program and only getting lost deeper in the woods...

In this blog, I present a way of scanning and manually approximating a decent color balance so that only finetuning needs to be done. The histogram is used as a reference point to do the rough balancing and get you close to 'good' colors in a single step.
