Here's an interesting thing I noticed when reversing Kentmere 400.
Tried to weigh down the film when drying to flatten it. Flatten it did so I mounted my slides in my beloved GEPE 7013 happily. But it wasn't beneficial.
Thus I learned that my projection lens is of the curved field type - expecting a bulged slide due to the heat.
But the flattened K400 did not pop - none of the ~16 slides I mounted. Meanwhile the unweighted ones work as expected - ensuring better focusing performance.
Go figure lol
