Imagine my shock to learn it has nothing to do with flash powder. In this day and age people are re-discovering Tintypes and all sorts of olde stuff, so I assumed it was how to use flash powder to illuminate a subject. I knew old timer news photographers who used the stuff and had the skin burn scars to prove it.

Some things we are just meant to do without. Just imagine trying to take flash powder aboard an aircraft.
