You might be a few light-years too late to cash in on that opportunity.

Yeah. Around the time of the prequel trilogy, a Heiland 3-cell handle was selling for up to $1000. People were buying them to make their own fake light sabre. They still sell for a fairly high price for that reason. Lots of entire Speed Graphic kits were bought just for that handle - who knows what happened to the rest of it.

At least they weren't buying them to make their own real light sabre. That would make me start to worry.

I had deleted my previous post as non constructive. Apparently however I have reached an age where I am in an extremely rare and elite group. A 68 year old American male who has never seen that movie or any of its iterations. I guess one day I shall have to. So I have decided to put it on my list as #1. Right after watching oil base paint drying and a golf tournament. Defiling fine photographic vintage photographic gear for transient causes is heresy.

As someone who is slightly older than you, I can only say: "you should see the movies - at least the initial trilogy" and "you missed out"
They are full of references that have entered into the modern vernacular, and familiarity with them will help with understanding a lot that is everyday now.
They also led to a huge improvements to Kodak's bottom line, because Kodak sold a lot of motion picture film as a result of them.
They are also entertaining adventure stories, and their quite amazing (for the time) use of special effects is marvelous to see - at least if one is a fan of the craft of cinema.
The light sabre from a Graflex flash accessory thing? Just a piece of DIY ingenuity that someone from the prop department came up with that ignited the fascination of fans.
May the Force Be With You!

Ancient History! Star Wars was shot and composited on Film using archaic techniques! Probably boosted Revell's stock too with all the ship models cut up and used for detail on space ships. Amazing what was done before digital!
