In the USA Sodium Thiosulfate is used to stabilize the Iodides in Table Salt, thus you may consider Table Salt. But likely you will not succeed to dissolve enough of it.

That is an interesting point. There was some guy here (and elsewhere) talking about using table salt as a fix. Perhaps it wasn't the salt at all, but the Sodium Thiosulphate.

When I did it I used Iodized Salt and it worked, that could be why.
 
You can also use the stuff pet stores sell to dechlorinate water for fish tanks, but it's really expensive in that application.
