Fixed my Speed Graphic

The other day I dropped the bed on my Speed Graphic with the rails out a little too far, and one of the inner rails popped out of the little slot that holds it and front standard wouldn't retract into the body. I of course thought I'd done something really bad to it and would need professional help to fix it. But of course, Graflex repairmen aren't exactly common these days. But I managed to figure it out just by seeing where things were supposed to go (I pull the front standard off the end of the rail, which allowed me to crank the rail way up, so the end of the inner part come away from where it was supposed to go, and from there I could slide it back in to its proper slot)

I guess there's something to be said for a camera that's basically a wooden box with a few metal bits held on by screws. I wouldn't have tried to do something like that with one of my Nikons (which have something like 7,000 parts).

The larger the camera, the more the parts make visual sense when you need to figure out what's wrong. Reminds ypu that a camera is a box designed to keep the lens and the film apart and that's about it.
