I have this idea of fitting an ilford multigrade 500h head to a saunders lpl 4550 xl enlarger that currently has the saunders VC head. is there any advantage to doing this? or am i just bored enough to be trying out useless projects?

a question i shouldve asked first, is it even possible to do this?

Thanks

It should be possible, but may depend on your donor unit. The mixing boxes vary in height from enlarger to enlarger, so if one is too tall you may need a big spacer but if it is too short that may be a bigger problem.
