Well, I just ended a very short printing session with the accidental 25g/L sulfite version of ID-78... I only made a couple of prints, as I haven't fixed my washing problems yet, but here's my initial response (keeping in mind that I'm yet to use the "regular" ID-78):
Image tone is very pleasant with JandC polywarmtone paper. This is very subjective, but I like it better than with Neutol WA. However, the prints are still in the wash, and I'll have to wait a couple of days to be able to judge that fairly.
Development time was good in two minutes. I was printing a good negative for a change (I actually printed it with no filtration on my color head), and had no issues at all.
Tray life seemed good. Agfa Neutol WA and Agfa 120 both exibited some color shift (deep yellow)at the end of my sessions. This "ID-78+" (I named the child!
) was still pale yellow when it was poured into the bottle. Hopefully monday I'll be able to print again, and then its lifespan will be tested again.
That is it for now. I'll try to post a scan of the print when its dry.
