Nice results! Yashicas are great little cameras. Big neg and sharp lens.

Good start! If you need more sharpness, use some tmax film (like 400) and use f8-16 range.

I have one of the same (camera, I mean). Shoot it, enjoy it and cherish it. It's a great, but often underrated camera...mainly because of the Yashikor lens. But, I have reason to believe that the 'kors are sharper than the more famous 'nons.

Nice shots! I love my Yashica A, too. Fuji Acros 100 is another great film to use with this wonderful camera. For more contrast, you could use a yellow or orange filter. Since the A does not have the standard Bay-1 lens mount (30mm bayonet), I made an adapter using a Voigtlander 310/32 lens hood with a 52mm-55mm step up ring epoxied to it.

Dan, that's an excellent DIY solution to mount filters on the A! i'll have to try that method of yours if I don't find any other way. I wonder how easy or hard to find that Voigtlander hood. Thanksmfor sharing it with us!

32 mm push-on filters and hoods fit.

My first medium format camera was a Yashica A with Yashimar lens, that I got from my grandfather to play with. I broke it while experimenting with it, but in the late 80's my father machined a new focus knob for it and I made a new ground glass, and used the camera a bit before I bought my first Rolleiflex.

A couple of years ago I bought a Yashica A with Yashikor in very good shape, that I gave my father as a birthday present together with a strap, 32 mm push-on filter and hood. Very nice camera and the lens is also very good. Soft wide open and plenty sharp stopped down.

Thanks Altair! It seems that the Voigtlander hood is a little hard to find. I found it on eBay from a seller in Australia. KEH has the hoods occasionally, but I didn't see any on there when I looked last night. You may be able to find 32mm push-on filters, but I am not sure how rare they are.

It was odd of me that I left too much space at the top, which cost the foot. I will shoot another portait soon. Frankly, it is difficult to see the edges of the frame in the groundglass, even with my freading glasses on. Probably needs a better cleaning.
