mine was Ilford FP4 24exp 35mm and I still have the negatives I went to the country and shot a sheep but then it chased me hehehehe.
A teacher called Mary Dorahy gave it to me. she was a huge influence on my life and I wouldn't be where I am today without her.

I cant remember what we were given as bulk load back at school (APX maybe?), but the first film I used with my new Mamiya about 4 years ago was Fuji Neopan Acros 100

Plus-X or Tri-X. This was HS photo class and we were given "outdoor or indoor" film to use from bulk rolls. I had everything backwards in class: f/22 was the bigger aperture as it was the bigger number, the wrong film was in the camera and set at the wrong ISO.

I took out our little rangefinder cameras onan outing club ski trip to the Adirondacks and did everything wrong! Those first two rolls of film were so bad--overexposed and leprosy all over the film from missloading on the SS reels. I still have them to remind me that things can always get worse!

I initially used Ilford XP2 as my B&W film but my first "real" B&W film was T-Max 100.

It was the film my lecturer used, and handed out to the class when we first used medium format about one year ago exactly.

Kodak Black and White Portra...I wanted to shoot my brother's wedding in black and white to see how I liked the process. Of course, the film was discontinued but I've been mostly using Tri-X ever since.

Good grief! I simply have no idea what I first used it was SO long ago. However, now I use Ilford HP5PLUS 400 and am very satified with it...
