I've been trying to find some LC29 in the USA but no one seems to carry it. I even called WYNIT and the very, very nice guy there said it is only sold in Europe.

He said the comparable item here in the USA is Ilford Ilfotec HC.

Any ideas about this?

Dear David,

We do not appear to be shipping LC29 to our US distributor, I will check it out with our HARMAN technology staff in the USA.

Regards

Simon.

Dear David,

I have spoken to our US Marketing staff and we have apparently never shipped LC29 to the USA, although no one is quite sure why, its probably that HC was sold instead of....they will review the options and come back to me if its viable

I was perusing FilmDev.org and saw nice results for Ilfotec LC29 developer. I would like to try some but it appears it was not available in the US 8 years ago and I still don't see it anywhere. I checked Freestyle, B&H, and Adorama. Is this still the case?

Look at Ilford's website www.ilfordphoto.com. LC29 is a more dilute and more convenient version of Ilford's Ilfotec HC, which is readily available at B&H or Freestyle. You just have to learn the new dilutions, but it's the same developer. That $50 bottle of Ilfotec HC should last for over 100 rolls. Whether or not the concentrate will last forever like Kodak's similar HC-110 is something I've never tested. Since Ilfotec HC is a thick syrup and the MSDS lists glycol, it probably is as well preserved.
