Finder flare in Leica M5

Hello, I never had any finder flare issues with my M5, then the RF mirror mechanism had to be replaced as it started to separate. Sherry Krauter put in the MP frames with the 28mm lines. I actually preferred it with the old ones, with 35mm being the widest, but I digress.
Anyway, it now flares like crazy. Sherry says everything is normal, but to me it isn't. I am using a temp fix by putting a tiny piece of electrical tape on the frame illuminator window, which works but obviously darkens the frame lines.
Any ideas?

The early pre M4-2 and late MP finders are better if you suffer from flare sensitivity.
If you get separation the rebuild option one kidney USD is the way to go.

Lots of people prefer the pre M6 frames.

Huss, I guess the lower/sunken reflectivity of the old mirror made it that your rangefinder patch was less bright.
If that is what you call flare.

I actually had no issues with the brightness. It was fine. But it then developed the tell-tale drip marks which was the mirror separating. The replacement with the 28mm frames was the one that flares. The old one never did and seemed as bright as the new one. Anyway, I may try that filter from leicagoodies.
