Not yet but: Last Monday we sold our flat, and three days later we bought a house with space for a darkroom in the basement. We will move in in a couple of months, and then I will start construction as soon as I can.

The room will need to get running water installed, and also a drainage pump.

I'm looking forward to setting up, and not least using, my IFF Ampliator 13x18cm enlarger, which now sadly is in in storage...

Congrats Trond. Mine has been boxed and stored because we are trying to sell the house and move down to Tauranga. We had a family through today and are on their short list so fingers crossed..

We moved late last summer, and the new darkroom should finally be ready in a couple of weeks. Nothing more disruptive than a move, but it sounds like you are well on your way to bliss!!! Good luck!!

Lykke til !
Good luck Trond. It has always takes me some time after each move to get a dark room reestablished but definatly well worth the effort. Happy printing (when you get that far)

I had to put the Ampliator in storage before the sale. My wife thought that it would distract potential buyers. I suspect she thinks it's ugly too...

The temporary darkroom (read bathroom) that I have used for the last years has worked very well, but I'm really looking forward too having all the equipment permanently installed in one place.

Sean: Good luck with the sale!

Suzanne: I've seen the photos of the darkroom you are constructing, seems nice and large! Do you have more recent photos of it?

Congrats! I don't know what I would do without my darkroom.

You'll probably find that the permanent darkroom is a living organism in constant need of TLC. Purchase number 1: An ionizing humidifier with which you shall only use distilled water! Hopefully, the spirit of the dust bunnies will not torment you.

BTW: You're suffering dryness issues in your darkroom? I actually use a dehumidifier in mine.

I put a humidifier and a dehumidifier in my darkroom and let them fight it out.

We have had a frozen drain pipe in the "new" house, and extensive water damage already... It will cost about $35000 to fix, but the damage is covered by insurance. So it will take a few months before I can start building the new darkroom.
