Filters for HIE infrared

Just picked up my first roll of HIE and am not sure what filters will give the best results. I have an R2 and R 25a. Will these work with this film and how will the results differ from a true infrared filter. At 13 bucks a roll I hate to waste it if these filters won't.

The 25 will work just fine.

I've gotten great results with it. With a 25 filter, the IR overpowers any visible sensitivity.

If you end up liking the IR effect, you probably will want to move on to the near opaque (wratten 89B or B+W 092) or opaque (wratten 87C or B+W 093) filters that produce a very dramatic effect. You will lose some sensitivity, and may need a tripod depending on the subject.

It's probably a bit late, but I did a comparison of various filters on infrared film.
I've attached it below.
The film used is Maco IR820C, but you'll get virtually the same effect on HIE.
The order is: No filter, Yellow, Orange, Red, Hoya R72
