david ... very good works indeed ...
but let me remark about the title " film photographer wins .... "
when i hear something like this, especially from film photographers (and i guess u r one of those dedicated guys like me with film), i have a feeling that this comes with some unconfidance in FILM and its place in photography arena .... as though it is RETRO and no body really pays attention in the conteporary pro and art photography to works done on film... that titla sounds to me like "wow, what a happy days and surprise, film is still on the map" .... just like "wow - it is b/w, it is retro" .... b/w is film, and for me it is a languege, a medium on its own... and about film in general (color i mean), ya, digital takes its place and convinience but there are many, much more than it seems photographers still photographing with film, nothing surprising in it, and nothing inferior in using film... i think there are two mistaken conceptions about film photgraphy among film photographers - some people think that only small group knows the beauty of film and some people feel not so confident as to the film "niche" etc .... neither one of them is "true" ...
