I think the biggest issue is that no professionals use 1 hour labs, and consumer demand is tanking rather rapidly. The last time I went to CVS they handily pull processed my film.
Nope, Pitt St. Just after intersection with Park St, past the Wollies windows. Where the lunch time chinese mall is.
And they do 120 as well, same conditions.
Will it come to the point that anyone wanting a color print from a negative or slide have to do it at home in a home darkroom?
Oh Ok. The Castlereagh St outlet I mentioned takes them to the Pitt St lab (that you mentioned). They do a good job and pretty decent rates and turnaround times too.
I don't think 1-hr labs closing down is necessarily entirely a bad thing ...
A couple weeks ago I had written that the local Walmarts were doing away with onsite processing. I was just in Target last night and noticed they recently removed their machine too...
It used to be that many dealers here in Rochester would send film to Praus (an APUG sponsor), if you requested high quality professional results. They will no longer do that. You have to go to Praus in person.

uwp;
Rowe still has 2 stores in Rochester AFAIK. Neither carry any film products. They had a "fire sale" a few years ago and nothing is left except digital still and digital video. They have a whole room devoted to "hi fi" now and HDTV at the one on Mt. Hope (or wherever it is in Henrietta now). The one on Ridge Road in Greece is near the big mall here and is handy to me, but they have nothing I'm interested in in any way. Hahn is the only bet. I'll probably be over there tomorrow.

To the editor of the title of the thread, if yer gonna change it, it should read "markets". I am told that all stores are discontinuing the processing facility. Since that covers the mid Atlantic to Canada, thats a lot of stores.

Yep, been in that room.
