Everything seems to be working just fine but for some reason the spindle won't grip the film.

Is this an FTB QL? The quick load system in those has little rubber pads that need to grip the film leader to wind the film up.

Try cleaning those with alcohol on a cotton swab.

This is assuming the take-up spool is turning, just not gripping the film. If the spool itself is not turning when you fire and wind, then there is a mechanical problem. Is the rewind button on the bottom of the camera stuck in by any chance?

Hello gentlemen, I just want to thank all of you for the help. Really appreciate it. It was indeed a sprocket problem.

So what precisely was the problem with the sprocket and how was this fixed?

Thanks
