Hi guys. I havent bought much in recent years so I dont know, but when I bought my Rolleiflex in Adorama last year, I notice a price increase in some of medium format gear like Fuji GX680 or Rolleiflex. Is it really just me or has it increased?

As Ian says, there's another thread on this.

I have noticed the cost of TLR's has risen recently though.

The other thread is in the 35mm forum. If this thread sticks to medium format, it could function as a separate item.

Prices ALWAYS seem to be rising when one is buying. When selling...

I find the MF bodies and lenses prices are dropping.

Sorry, I dont use 35mm anymore so I never went there, that's why I dont know about that topic.
Still, Rolleiflex seems to be increased in price. I remember many paid less for their Rolleiflex than my beaten up. Also I saw the GX680 IIIs in Adorama for double the price of my GX680 which also comes from Adorama.

Sometimes the price of a particular item will vary from the overall trend.

I have seen some MF brands rising. Hasselblad, Rolleiflex have gone up. I think Fuji, including the 680 has come down - especially the lenses. Mamiya 645 down, Mamiya 7 up, Bronica down. Contax 645 steady. Pentax 645 up, 67 down. I think what has happened is that you are seeing a lot of stuff coming out of Japan, onto eBay and that has dropped the Japanese brands down. The German/Swedish brands have gone up because of demand by both North American and Chinese buyers - and more for the sake of ownership rather than for shooting.

Depends where and what. In the UK Hasselblad V prices have appreciated a bit (5-10%) in the last 5 years and I think Rollei TLR prices are up a bit too. Contax 645 prices have varied wildly, they went from £1000 for a decent set 6-7 years ago to £2000 3 years ago to £1500-1800 nowadays as the fad with them seems to be going. Pentax 645 is up (said Contax fad moves to this now). Hasselblad H seems to be dropping a bit (you can easily find them for under £1000 now). Mamiya 6/7 has been pretty much the same over the last 5 years.

It really depends though as supply in Europe is tighter than in the US so any fads or a sudden buyer rush affects prices more.
