Film from the fridge

I know I will have a great photographic opportunity in around 30 mins.

All the film on hand is refrigerated at below 4 deg C.

What should I do (except berate myself for not taking another roll out of the fridge when I used the last one)

My on hand stock of room temp film is exhausted.

Hold the film in your hand, or under your arm pit to warm it up. Make sure you take it out of the cannister first (its faster that way). A hair dryer on low should work well too. When you go to put it into your camera, check for condensation.

Not in a microwave!
You don't want to overheat and cause fogging. Too hot or too fast may cause problems.

I would not take the film out of what ever package it is in untill the very last minute. The whole point of not opening it till is wam is to prevent condensation from forming. Bring it up to temp by putting it under your arm but don't open the package untill it is warm.

I often just put the film in my pant's pocket -- It is generally 120 not 35 in a can.

Pants pockets work great. So do inside coat pockets if you are outside and wearing one. I do this with 120. I suppose it would work with 35mm too.
