Has anybody here been in Hanoi in December?
What would be a good film to take there?

I'll be shooting a 35mm lens on a 35mm rangefinder.
I would like to only take one film stock with me to keep the photos consistent.

I have lots of:
  • Solaris 400
  • Superia Premium
  • E100VS
  • Ektar
  • Provia 400X

to chose from.

Ektar 100. Light in the tropics doesn't change much from season to season, and it's pretty intense throughout the day. Sunset comes around 6pm and it happens pretty fast - it's not like in the more northerly/southerly latitudes where dawn and twilight can linger for an hour or more.

It's very hilumid and often wet in Hanoi. These would be primary considerations before you get around to thinking about film. From your list I would take Ektar and Provia 400X but you are likely to slip into a pattern of using just one film irrespective of the number you take.
