I would not say out of nowhere. Most probably most of them spent part of their lives inventing and making film. Film we already had in our cameras.
How much of a stretch is 4x5 if you can make 120 & 35?
I had an email from them a few weeks ago stating they could make sheet film. I guess it would depend on demand and whether they get contracts from some of the large US distributors.
Have a look at the home page and there a large box marked Film Ferrania.

It's also encouraging that the guy in charge of emulsions makes good beer.
Somebody who makes beer and film is a useful man indeed, and would probably even make a good brother-in-law.
That's the devil of it, I have no sisters.
In all seriousness, I wish them success.
I actually liked those portraits of the team. They had 'film' look so to say - not overly sharp on the subject, fall-offs. (At least as I saw on the phone.)

We would like to confection it but first they need to reformulate and make it.
I visited them four weeks ago.
We have been Ferranias business partner for almost 20 years now. I must say that I was very surprised when I first heard about this project but after having visited them I am quite optimistic.
