P33 (iso 160) is going to be available by Jan '24 at my local shop in Milan, Italy both in 35 and 120 format.

wonderful. when I was first starting out taking pictures in the early 1960s, I often got rolls of 3M Dynapan. (if you sent out a roll of B&W to "Mercury Photo Service" you got a free roll of Dynapan when you picked up your prints..) at the time It was assumed to be Ferrania P33. the camera store did have a couple of rolls of P33 in stock, which I used to try my First 35mm Camera, only to find the camera had a light leak.

160 was the rating of P33 back in the day so it is consistent. Nostalgia if nothing else.

The main thing is that Ferrania are producing film and presumably able to sell it for a profit.
Im sure they will get there with colour and it appears they are working on this behind the scenes.
Not going to complain though, im patiently waiting.

One of my subscribers sent me this link... http://www.puntofoto.it/news.asp
It's in Italian, but you can click on the English translation tab that pops up...

Instagram post about their tour, including previews of the new P33 film. There was a reference to P36 that has been edited out now.

Positive that they are progressing!

well, I checked and the film ferrnaia com site has P30 in 120 back in stock. Comes up at 19.00 Canadian a roll. (yikes) and the postage by DHL is 50 bucks. you do get a "discount" if you put more than 5 rolls in your cart, of the three types that are available.

I'll wait until FPP gets more in stock. I'm NOT paying DHL 50 loonies! Time for Ferrania to ramp up production!

Now that it looks likely that P33 and P36 are going to be revived, does anyone have examples of pictures taken with these stocks?

I found this, but the examples are from an expired roll.

Also this.

JUst got an e-mail that they are offering a discount this week on P30 135-36. My timing is terrible.

My little 10 roll envelope from Italy arrived. as I sort of expected DHL charged me an additional 20 Bucks Canadian to do the import paperwork. the package was a half Kilo, so the shipping alone cost the same per gram as the finest Imported Japanese roast.

I did look at the bar code from two of the 35mm rolls (it was -1C here today so I will wait till tomorrow for the film to warm up) one was in the range of 0000A2xx and the othere was in the range 00009xxx but scanning them both returned that the film was ORTO (even the one from the P30) with a roll number of 0000 and a manufactured date in 1980. So they have not been updating their database.

the box from the 120 was embossed with 12 2026 which I guess represents an expiry date.

It will be a while before I try to order direct unless they get a MUCH better method that Shipping DHL.

Yeah, I am not happy about their shipping either. Got a package in a very thin, unpadded DHL document envelope with every single carton mangled, torn and squashed, not a pretty sight. And that was on a quick trip from Italy to Austria... 🫣

same here, I figured that they would have had to charge more to send it in a box. the Italian Post office has a long reputation of unreliability, so I can understand why they want to use a better shipper, and it seems that DHL has a dominant share in europe.

They charged plenty enough for shipping to send it in a proper box with proper packaging with any of the 4 or so other European carriers ...

P30 is now available on the official website in 30m bulk rolls for €99, which by my calculation works out at around €5.50 per 36 exposure roll. Not bad at all.

wonder why they selected 98.4 feet, rather than the typical 30.5 meters or 100 ft Still this is great to see. Will proably wait until they have a north american distribution option. Still felling Badly Burned by my experience with the Customs clearance fee ripoff from DHL. (when the carier wants you to pay them almost as much as the Government is getting - just for the arduous task ofdoing routine paperwork - it gets old fast)
