Film Exposure Chart?

A couple years ago I remember seeing somewhere, maybe not even on this site, some exposure charts that were very comprehensive, Almost to the point you could walk around with no meter at all and always hit on correct film exposure. Now being the happy owner of a Nikon F with plain prism, I'd like to see some of these charts or tables. Thank you.

There's a PDF file for the "Jiffy Calculator" that appears from time to time. I found it here. Can't say I've ever printed and put it together, but it looks like fun.

Man, that's what I call detailed. Definitely not your average Kodak fillm leaflet. By the time I found the correct exposure on that, the picture might change completely. I remember back in the day as a young teenager with my grandfather's Ansco Memar, all I had to go by was the film leaflet and some guesswork. But guesswork turns to experience and skill, and that was the way it was done. You lose that with meters and purchasing more equipment, and I want that basic simplicity back. A simple camera around my neck and nothing else. Thats why I love my little Knight kit T60 transmitter and a key.

The old “Snapshot Kodaguide” and “Kodak Master Photoguide” had cardboard wheels to calculate exposure, you can find them used in a lot of places. Film Photography Project is selling a modern version, the Black Cat Exposure calculator.

That dial likely is the most advanced amongst the commercial ones. I do not know whether there was an English version of it.
(I did not even come across the German version so far...)

The other day I ran across a copy of "Kodak Master Photoguide" - 1965 printing. Not only does it cover exposure but it covers bellows, depth of field , flash , and other info. The previous owner has added many notes plus a couple of pages of hand written notes - Its quite apparent that he or she used the guide extensively . Measuring 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches it would take a fair sized pocket to stick it in. By reading a few of their notes it would seem he or she shot a lot of Kodachrome and Ektachrome.

I just found a Black Cat that I must have bought over 20 years ago. I remember it being pretty handy when I was still figuring out Sunny 16.

I also printed and folded the Fred Parker calculator because I thought it looked nifty but I haven’t actually used it.

I starting using the Jiffy Calculator for night photography when it first came out in 1963 for slides. I have never missed an exposure with it.

Yeah. Jiffy of course. That is probably all anybody "needs".
I also have one called Black Cat (i think) that must be a variation of Jiffy. I am in process of moving and have stuff in boxes in two different houses..... i will see if i can chase it down for you.

I printed out that Jiffy calculator. It really is the cat's pajamas. But uh-oh, guess what? I'm 62 years old. I can't read that itty-bitty type. I guess this is going to take some time.I can still operate my Luna-Pro and see it good enough. But I want to get back the meter independence I had as a kid before I got my first SLR with meter. Back in those days all I had was my Grandfather's Ansco Memar and experience. I contend you CAN judge exposure by eye, and hit it every time. Back in '72 I got my first metered SLR and have been dumbed-down ever since. I'm going to like this basic prism F. Can't wait till it gets here tomorrow. It's my living through a heart attack present to myself. I'm going to carry it with no cases and no cares. And shoot everything.

These came with Ilford films with handy recommendations on processing back in the 80s, I think. What more do you need?

You could always print it larger. Might make it a little less handy but at least you'll be able to read it.
