We've been kicking the idea of a Film & Darkroom Group around for a few days. The discussion began at The Texas Photo Forum. I wanted to spread the word a bit further around.

As it stands now, we are planning to get together at the new Goode & Co. Bar-B-Que near the intersection of FM 1960 and US-290 about 6pm on Sunday, Dec. 21.

Any and all with an interest in keeping Analog Photography alive and well please come and join us.

Cheers!

Wayne

The Texas Photo Forum is not unlike apug (in format), except that it is 99% Texans and 99 & 44/100% digital. :D

I have been following Wayne's efforts to get a group from that site together to discuss and foster film and darkroom in Houston and he is meeting with some success. I will not be able to attend - being 250 miles away. However, if the Houston group succeeds, I will do what I can for a North Texas chapter.

I see a number of members from Texas in general and Houston in particular here and the Large Format Photography Forum. There is hope!

Come on down!

We tried to pick a place as central as possible. In the future, we can move around. I wouldn't mind going way up north to Magnolia!

I'll be in central Texas checking on the progress on my new darkroom (that could read, house) however I like to keep my priorities straight. Bet I could arrange to get back a bit early for some goode company and great barbeque. Bill Barber

Film and Darkroom Folks

Wayne,
Good to see your post in APug and I hope it will attract more interest in the group. See you Sunday at Goode BBQ.

Hmm, wonder how we will know who our group is? Discolored finger nails, Diana hanging around our next, black jeans and shirts, stains on our tee-shirts, pale skin??? Sure hope Valerie shows up. I've met her. Bill Barber

OK, the stuffed baked potato with Czech sausage was AWESOME!
Kevin's Cibachrome prints were better than the baked potato. Isn't it amazing how an obsolete process can still be better than the competition?
Will, Phil and Bill were there!
Everyone agreed that my Epson 1280 printer is a dog.
We got Steve on track to load his Jobo 2509 reel with sheet film.
Kevin brought his Zeiss folding sheet film camera. We aren't sure what size film it takes. Smaller than 4x5. It folds up so small! I want one! I'm afraid finding film for it will be a hassle.
Valerie has an 8x10 camera. And a 4x5 back for the 8x10 camera. More camera envy.
We may do a Light Rail trip through Houston next month.
Enough?
