Film buying advice.

I bought, about 2 weeks ago, 100' of tri-x. I'm thinking of getting 200' more.

Do I need it? I do need a better lock for my bike, and I could probably live with only 100' more. What do you think?

Well, did you actually USE the 100' you already bought, or are you close to completion?

But do you "need" the film? That's a tough one. I know this is heresy to manny Apuggers, but film is just not one of the necessities of life for most of us here. But a better lock for you just might me.

Can you buy only the 100' extra film and still buy the lock?

I used about 3 rolls of 36 so far. 100' usually lasts for a few months, but its always nice to not to worry about running out. I can buy 100' and buy the lock.

Marko darling, Auntie Valerie says go with the 100' and the lock. It would be a shame if your bike was stolen (now that's a lot of film!!)

Screw the bike! There's never enough film. Put the bulk rolls in the freezer. Can you do that with your bike when you're not riding it?

Sorry Valerie, I think I'm actually going to get some stock in Opentext.
My expensive mountain bike, or my cheap road bike has not been stolen with the lock I have now, and there are easier targets at my school.

So, what does everyone think about stock?

why are you thinking about film when you have still 97 rolls in your freezer??
i'd start that when i have 9 or 7 rolls in my freezer. or is it 200 rolls for a special bargain?

You know, you just might save some money buying now since oil prices are hitting new highs. It won't be long before the costs will be showing up in the prices. Buy an extra 100ft only if you can justify it, but I would say the bike lock is more important.

Buy a good bike lock. I have lost two high end bikes and now I ride a POS road bike that no-one would want to steal.

Are you serious Simon? I did buy HP5+ in 100' once on B&H. I always buy Tri-X because it is the film I started with. The first B&W roll i shot was Tri-X developed in D76. I use Pan F+ and Delta 3200 though.
