Film: better fridge or freezer?

Hello,
Since sounds like a stupid question probably is but I have this problem:
my super expensive 5x7 portra 160 film sheets are expired. It is only 3 days, but I have still 40 sheets and I do not use 5x7 very often.
I kept the box in the fridge since I bought it. The question is: is it better to keep on storing these films in the fridge or is better to store them in the freezer?I never thought about freezing them, maybe is better, what do you think, are you experienced?

I keep my prof film in the freezer in plastics boxes. In the fridge i have some films to grap when needed because of the smaller time needed to warm them up.

in the freezer they can be kept a long time. I used film (npz 800) from 2000 last month which was ok. But there will be guys who used film much older i guess....

I keep mine in the fridge... they take too long to warm up in the freezer... maybe if I was better organized it wouldn't mater.

Normally it depends on how long I before I figure I will use the film, in the fridge it slows down the aging process, in the freezer it esentually stops the aging the process, when I take out to use, from the fridge, I let stablize at room temp for about 15 minutes and when from the freezer I let stabilize for about 1/2 hour and have never had any problems using the film after those times.

I think I am gonna run to the freezer and stuff it af all my films.
I suppose I have to wait a couple of hours in room temperature before loading them, or it is better load them and wait a couple of hours with the film in the holder?

I don't load mine, I leave in the box, with the bag inside and allow to come up to room temp, never have a problem and I normally just let mine stabilize for about a 1/2 hour, if you remove from the light tight box or bag, you run the risk of introducing moisture to the film that can leave spots on the emulsion..
