Your judgement of this film sort of reminds me of this joke about Harley Davidson's motorcycles in the 90ies: "They're loud, they vibrate, they're unreliable, why would anyone want a Harley?". Some may remember the answer, and it may also be a suitable answer to "Why would anyone want to shoot such a grainy, low ISO, inconsistent and hard to buy film?"

I don't know the answer about Harley cycles. Loud enough to wake the dead. šŸ˜Ž

The 2023 version of the answer would be "it boosts your social standing". I'm getting old ....

You must be talking
"it boosts your social standing"
Haven't that always been the case? Nothing has changed.

Grain? Are we talking P30 or poor business practices? Because P30 doesn't have any, but Ferrania...

What I was trying to say: there are legions of MBAs, marketing gurus, and enterprise logistics experts, who all together couldn't make a single roll of film. Then we have a company, which is bad at business, marketing and logistics, but which can make that roll of film people are looking for. The film my fail all technical performance parameters, but seems to create a look people like at a cost they are willing to put up with.

PS: that's basically what the Harley Davidson joke tries to tell.
