I'm in for two rolls of 35mm in a slightly out-of-character way.
The cynic in me says that I may never see my $40 again or any film.
The realist in me says that I've just given a very small leg-up to an enterprise that is to be admired, whatever the outcome.
The optimist in me says that "from little acorns great oak trees grow" and my dollars may help to see the future of reversal film assured for a few more years.
Wonder which will come true? Good luck to Ferrania anyway!

Ok, I'm in. No way I'm shooting that film. It can wait until I can buy some.

Good show, guys.

I see that the final-5-days-syndrome has begun. New/updated pledges are now outstripping canceled pledges and the net amount is rising more quickly. The average pledge is just a hair over $57.

Just for fun, I went through the offers and figured out the "uptake" so far.

if I have not mistyped too many items they are committed to providing

35mm 6854
120 6108
Super8 550
16mm100 309

(the 16mm 100 rolls would each have the same running time as the super 8.)

If you're churning out a new film on your factory line, 6000 120 or 35mm rolls = 300k feet each. I doubt that's something to be considered 'too much' for a factory reopening w film due in April. The smaller sizes look to be about similar total lengths.

Meanwhile, it's down to 39 hours left, and up to $311k (last I saw was at $297k). Might we hit $350k or even $400k? People on Kickstarter have a tendency to come in at the last-minute so it's not entirely improbable.

I think that you will find that he means the website has just been updated, 29th, following the completion of the kickstarter.

Thank you!

Well, that is indeed a convincing success.
A clear signal from the market
- that there is demand for colour reversal film, photographers need it
- that a right-sized company for colour film manufacturing is very appreciated by the film photography scene
- that a company willing to fill the market gaps is very appreciated
- that a company willing to communicate with the film photographers is very appreciated.

Congratulations and a very big "thank you very much" to Film Ferrania!
And also a big "thank you" to all supporters!

Now the really very hard work 'begins' for Film Ferrania.
I wish them all the best and good luck!

Best regards,
Henning

Anyone else disappointed in the lack of updates on this project?

No.

Film Ferrania has already published a large number of updates. We have a dedicated Ferrania representative right here on APUG who periodically checks in and answers any and all questions. They've posted lots of photos on their website detailing the ongoing cleanup, construction, and upgrades work. Anyone who wishes to follow the ups and downs of this project knows exactly where the project currently stands.

I myself pledged a fair amount of money to their Kickstarter campaign, and I'm not worried in the slightest.

I'm not worried, and I haven't been here at all in the last year. The only updated I've received have been through Kickstarter and they've been sporadic.
