And it's important that people continue to pledge, because at the end of the day a small but significant slice of pledges will prove to be uncollectable for a variety reasons. The goal has been met no matter what. But every little extra bit helps.

$264K! This is amazing! Who knew there were so many film photographers out there, and I'm sure that the amount of backers is only a tiny tenth of a percentage of who/whats out there.

There ia a new update with some interesting news. The main ones are:

[h=1]The Next Two Weeks[/h]With your continued support here on Kickstarter, we will now be able to purchase Trixie, Walter and Big Boy. The next step after the purchase is to incorporate these machines into our workflow. We have a plan to do this gradually over time, without interrupting our ability to produce film for sale - but with additional funding, that time can be reduced.
Our plan is to rebuild Trixie into our workflow first. Every dollar above our original goal will be used directly for this purpose. The triacetate base is the most critical part of making film - and it is increasingly difficult to purchase from other sources.
We have enough film remaining in our first batch to double our original goal, but this would require nearly double the backers - a feat that would be somewhat unprecedented for a Kickstarter campaign.
Can we draw in another 3000+ backers? We think this is up to you! If each of you convince just one more person to back our project, then we will sell out of this first batch of film and have the additional funding necessary to drastically reduce our overall timeline.
[h=1]Speaking of Rewards...[/h]A few astute backers pointed out that our math on the two FilmBurner Rewards was not consistent with other rewards. Unfortunately, we cannot change the price of the reward - but we can add more film to it. We're happy to announce that both FilmBurner rewards now include 12 rolls of film!
We've also added a brand new reward - the "DoubleBurner" that includes 12 each of 35mm and 120 for those who have requested big bundles.
Also due to popular request, we have added some experience-based rewards we think you may enjoy. Each has a few rules and restrictions, so please take the time to read the full reward description Dead Link Removed.
Experience #1 - Naming Rights
Backing this reward gives you the option to name a room in our factory. In addition, you can choose any 3 rewards of $300 or less.
Experience #2 - Private Screening
With this reward, you will receive a private screening of a classic Italian masterpiece shot on Ferrania film for you and 9 of your friends, in one of 5 global cities. In addition, you may also choose any 4 rewards of $500 or less.
Experience #3 - Super 8 Event
Nicola Baldini will film your special event on first-batch Super 8. At the end of the event, you will be presented with the actual camera Nicola uses, plus 10 Super 8 cartridges of your own. Nicola will edit your movie and deliver a 10-15 minute final digital file, as well as the original stock for your archives.
Each of these rewards offers a unique experience, and we will take great care to make them personal and memorable. If you have questions before pledging, please message us.

Here you have it. But, it is better to read the original on the KS project page: Dead Link Removed

Very interesting, I would have guessed that them wanting to save the film base machine was more a "what if" situation, but then again recall that Foma had some problems in getting enough "Clear" base for R100. Ilford and Foma and Filmotec mostly use GREY acetate. and EFKE had to use Poly base for the last few years which is borderline acceptable for 35mm cassettes because of the Light piping, and VERY annoying for movie use as it can only be tape spliced or by using an expensive Ultrasonic splicer. (filmotec uses Poly for their print film, but prints are not generally edited.) so perhaps the supply situation is closer to the bone than we realize. Colour Negative is generally made on a clear base with an AHU layer, but it COULD be made on a grey base.

They are now offering a chance for an official private tour. for 1500 bucks you get your name on one room in th eLRF and get a guided tour so you can see it. Perhaps more tempting is a double up of the "filmburner package" pay 375 US and get a dozen rolls of BOTH 135 and 120. (still don't have one with both still and movie film other than the "collector box")

Anyway, life is never boring.

Out of my 4x 120 rolls, I'm definitely doing at least one in my 6x17. Maybe all of them if it looks good...
