...I recently bought a Fed 2 rangefinder (Ebay) - everything works fine but when focusing using any sort of vertical line (pole, corner, etc) the part in the center patch appears tilted just a bit clockwise. Can this be adjusted? Is it a common problem?

I've tried both vertical and horizontal alignment; vertical simply raises or lowers the image in the patch in reference to the main image, whereas horizontal changes the close focusing to match the distance shown on the lens. Both of these are OK, it's just that the image in the patch is tilted a bit clockwise. Is there any other adjustment that can be done to make that part line up better, without the clockwise tilt?

There may be but you would have to remove the top plate.
