Hello,

I need FB print washer for 30x40cm papers, or bigger. I want to buy in Europe, USA or other is not option (transport cost).

Problem is, Paterson don't make 30x40cm washer anymore. I am buying new, no eBay. Only secondhand buying option is from firm, not individual via eBay, or like.

I am searching for afordable washer, Nova are too expencive.

DIY would cost me, because of my skills  ,as Paterson costed when was manufactured, so, DIY is last option.

What are my options? Europe buying only.

Thank you.

All other baryt washers are further expensive. Starting for 30x40cm at Eur. 490,00.

Most of them are made in Germany, some in U.K. so also your transport costs for such an item is also not cheap to Sarajevo.

So in that case I can give you this DIY link:

Best regards,

I would suggest a second-hand one from a reputable shop. Like Novadarkroom.com, or lumiereshop.de.

I am not sure how much it would cost you from Germany but avoid the UK as they charge for "overseas delivery" (somehow the Channel is as wide as the Atlantic) which when I asked about a 50x60cm washer it was atleast half its cost in shipping.

ehhh, yes, maybe you can let it floating????

U.K. is almost the same price in shipping like from the USA.
I should try Austria or the Czech Republic!

Thank you for answers.

I just got answer from one Croatian seller that Paterson 30,5x40,5 cm fiber paper washer is still in production ? and they have price of 260EURO for it.

It was surprise to me because I saw in Fotoimpex catalogue that washer is not in production anymore, and on Paterson web site there is no mentioning of that washer. They have fibre paper washer, but for 24x30cm paper (100 Euro), but I need atleast 30x40...

So, I ordered one from Croatian seller ...

Novadarkroom doesn't have secondhand one currently, new are more expencive (400 Euros cheapest), and lumiereshop.de site doesn't work...

Regarding transport, by my previous experience, weight about 20 kg costs about 100EURO, (180USD from Czech Republic, air transport, when last time buying...) maybe some less, so that is my estimate transport cost...

Fotohuis, Thank you for DIY site.

Thank you all again for answers.

Sorry about that. It should be www.lumiere-shop.de!

... And they don't have any print washers at the moment.

20kg from the Netherlands to Croatia, Bosnia-Herzogovina (Zone 4) Eur. 37,75 which is not really cheap but not US$ 180,00 or so.

Maybe we are going to do something with a DIY-kit for an archival washer.
Succes with the new 'toy'.

Robert,

I really payed 180USD... Well, it was once, usually I pay 30-50 USD for parcels from same sender, and parcels are 10kg and more. To be honest, they told me they must use other than theire usuall transport comapny, so maybe new company ripped them(me) off... And I don't know, maybe Czech transport companies prices are high. Well, maybe not transport, but companies who prepare export/transport documentation are maybe expencive...
In that parcel were beside foew box of paper also few tanks of 5 liters of chemistry (developer, fixer, etc...) so, maybe that was reason.

Well, never mind, that seller has so low prices of films, papers ans chemistry, so even with transport I stll pay less than in rest of Europe...

Regarding DIY washer. That was my original plan. But, when I saw prices of material, and having in mind my skills, and my disability of right arm, I discovered it easilly could cost me as new washer or even more (for material I would waste untill finally made washer).

But, I would try DIY kit if it is avaliable now, that is to assemble already prepared (precut) material. I am afraid I would by mine washer before you give DIY kit washer in offer, but for others maybe it isn't bad idea.
I know one USA company have DIY fible paper washer in offer, but I belive in Europe live enough of people who, for whatever reason, would not buy in USA, so maybe there would be market for your idea. I don't know, hope you will success.

And, finally, thank you for good wishes.

Regards

maybe Czech transport companies prices are high

I do not think so. We found a Dutch/Czech company for our export business for Amaloco photochemicals (the Netherlands) in transport 20% cheaper what we could find in the Netherlands itself for a truck palet transport from the Amaloco factory to Prague. (about 900km)
Euro palet (approx. 450kg) Eur. 128,00
Block palet (approx. 800kg) Eur 169,00
Within 3 days and when necessary conditioned in the winter (>5 degrees C).

About the DIY-kit: It will be standard available parts which we can buy at a cheaper price then and some pre assembled parts so that the whole project will be no "rocket science" but an easy assembly "for the week end". On the other hand a simple professional baryt washer (30x40cm) like we have in our program now should have a regular sales price around Eur. 400,00. One of the problems is that good material is not really cheap and that it's manual work due to the low sales amount of such a special product.

Denise, odgovor ce biti i na Engleskom, tako da i drugi zainteresovani mogu razumjeti. (Translation: Answer will be on English too, so others eventually interested in it can understand)

Pitanje/my request to seller:

Molio bih dodatne informacije o proizvodima za koje sam takodje zainteresovan. Proizvodi su:

...1. Paterson Auto print washer za papir 30x40 cm (iskljucivo za tu velicinu papira, negdje sam procitao da se taj proizvod vise ne proizvodi), kataloski broj PTP233

Please, can you give me informations about products I am interested...

... 1. Paterson Autoprint washer for 30x40cm size paper, (for that paper size only, I have read somewhere that model is not in production anymore), product number PTP233

Odgovor/Answer from seller:

Proizvodi se! On je za 30,5x40,5 format i sluzi za fibre-based papire.
Cijena je 239,00 Eura - moze se naruciti i doci ce za 15 dana ali mi
javite do sutra.

It is in production! It is for 30,5x40,5 format and it is for fibre based papers. Price is 239,00 Euro - it can be ordered and will be here (in our shop) in 15 days, but inform me till tommorow (if you want it).

Date of answer was 28. 11. 2006.

Seller is: www.efke.hr

Note: I have seen on Fotoimpex site (catalogue) that 30x40cm paper washer is not in production anymore, and on Paterson web site there is only 24x30cm paper washer, not 30x40cm paper washer. But, that seller from Croatia tells 30x40cm paper washer is still in production. As I said, I orderd one.

Of course, I am talking about fibre (FB) papers, NOT RC papers washer.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Robert. I think I could check with my supplier about transport prices...
