Together, they do. To me, it is meaningful to know that an 80 mm on 56x56 has about the horizontal AOV of a 50mm and the vertical AOV of a 35mm on small format. Or that, in order to get roughly the horizontal AOV of the 35mm, I need a 60 or 55 mm for 56x56.And width and height do?
In conclusion:
The favorite 35mm lens focal length is the one you’re using on your camera presently...!

On topic: I think 35mm is the most universal.
For me, a 35mm lens is perfect for landscape photography...!
