50..no...35...no 50...no...35...erm I think 50...or maybe 35. Split the difference and go 40? Maybe...nah...probably...no...35. Or was it 50.
Exactly...!

I've always favoured 50mm, but in the past year or two have come to see the benefits of 35mm. If I'm only carrying one lens, I tend to stick with the 50mm around town, but use the 35mm for trips abroad.
Do you have a favorite focal length lens for 35mm film cameras...?
I've always been a fan of 28mm, but recently I started using a 35mm lens and I love, love, *love* it. Need to invest in a faster one.

I find the 35mm lens too close to the 50mm lens to make it worth having. I much rather use the 28mm lens instead of the 35mm lens.
It depends entirely on what sort of subject you are shooting. If I'm doing sports or nature, I might only pull out a 135, 300. If I'm walking the streets of Florence I'd probably have a 24 and maybe a 50. If I'm doing portraits 80 or 135, group shots, maybe a 50. There are so many focal lengths because people do so many types of photography.

That is why I have a Tamron 28mm to 300mm zoom and a Nikon 28mm to 200mm zoom which cover most situations. The 20mm to 35mm zoom is shared between the two cameras to cover the rest of the range. I have a150mm to 600mm zoom with a 2x extender for wildlife and just because just in case.
Iike Sirius Glass I find the 35 to be too close to the 50 or 40, my trio has been the 28, 50 and 105.

Are you Sirius…?
We are serious and I am Sirius. 35mm focal length lenses make excellent paper weights and doorstops.
Surprisingly I agree...!My favorite focal length is [favorite focal length].
Same here, that's why after a long time with 35, an even longer time with 50, then back to 35, I finally ended up with 40I'd have a tough time picking between a 35mm and 50mm, but probably the 35 is my absolute favorite.
