On my Ethol LPD developer can the directions say for colder tones use a fast-bromide paper. What are some good FB fast-bromide papers. Is Kentmere a fast bromide?
I have a negative that I want to print with a cold blue black tone.

I believe the world's only bromide paper in existence is Slavich Unibrom. A wonderful paper, with a beautiful look and feel.

I believe the straight Bromide paper (Kentmere Bromide) is no longer made. The other papers are (I think) chloro-bromide, like Ilford MGIV.

I have some fujibro paper in the basement, used up the 8x10, and have a little of the 5x7 left. It is a bromide paper that fuji still makes. Might be a bit harder to source though.

Seems its only glossy though?

Yes, but it's a beautiful paper in that surface. I've used it extensively in the past. And I currently still have some Slavich Unibrom in three grades. But my all time favorite was the original Zone VI Brilliant. An amazing paper...

I'm a big fan of bromide papers.

I believe the Fujibro is a graded paper. On the Japan Exposures site they state: "Please specify contrast grade when ordering."

=== Hijack Warning ===

Sorry to a bit OT, but I have used the Slavich Unibrom papers in the past and liked them very much. I have not been able to source them easily since Freestyle discontinued them.

Does anyone know of a U.S. dealer that still offers graded Slavich Unibrom papers? I'd be grateful to find a source.

TIA

Last night I printed some negatives on Ilford MGIV FB using Moresch #6 blue developer and got the beautiful blacks and snappy whites I was looking for. Now if I was just a good print maker...but every step forward helps.

zsas,

Thanks! I've got Bernadette's contact info and I've e-mailed here about placing an order for me this spring. If she's the only source, I'll be happy to give her my business.

Best,

Doremus
